Arolla
Starting village for races A1 and A2
Arolla, at 2,000 metres and at the center of the Haute Route Chamonix Zermatt, is a paradise for skiers and hikers. Whether in winter or summer, the Bertol, Les Vignettes, La Tza and Aiguilles Rouges huts enable hikers to reach mythical Alpine mountains such as Mont-Collon and Pigne d’Arolla. Its lifts offer descents at the foot of the glaciers early in the season and until the end of April. Access to the resort is easy all year round from Sion.
Sion

As the Swiss capital of the Alps, the City of Sion makes its cultural and sporting facilities available to the whole region. It was therefore only natural that it should host the technical control centre for the Patrouille des Glaciers. During your visit to Sion, you’ll be charmed by its relaxed way of life and the unique warmth of its town centre. Explore its old town, one of the best-preserved in Switzerland, and make your way up to the castles. The view over the Rhône Valley and the surrounding mountains is unforgettable.
